Why families choose Chippendale

Environment

Built for early learning, inside and out

Chippendale was designed as an early learning centre from the outset, so the spaces do things a retrofitted building cannot.

  • Outdoors – Open turf under shade sails, a bike and scooter circuit, a sandpit, and a pergola the children help tend, with learning rooms opening straight onto the turf.
  • Indoors – A climbing wall, a turf mound with slide, and an indoor sandpit, so gross-motor play carries on whatever the weather.
  • An indoor garden – A covered pergola with raised planters and turf, somewhere green to potter about on a wet Sydney afternoon.
  • The rooms – Floor-to-ceiling glass on two sides, timber floors and low open shelving, each with its own character from an ocean wall to a hangar of hanging aircraft.

Learning

Empowering every child's full potential

Play-based learning drawn from Pikler, Reggio Emilia and Montessori, mapped to the Early Years Learning Framework, with a personalised plan for every child.

  • Resilient Individuals – We build emotional strength by encouraging children to persevere through challenges.
  • Empathic Citizens – Through relationships and play, we help children understand and respect others.
  • Flexible Thinkers – Open-ended environments promote curiosity and problem solving through discovery.
  • Independent Learners – We support autonomy by allowing children to make choices and direct their own learning.
  • Creative Problem Solvers – We spark imagination through the arts, music, drama and hands-on project-based learning.
  • Effective Communicators – We empower children to express themselves confidently through language, storytelling and active listening.
  • Second Language, every week – Our bilingual program runs through the normal day in songs, stories and everyday conversation, the way children learn a first language rather than as a lesson. For some of our families it keeps a home language alive. For others it opens a new one. No prior exposure needed, and no extra charge.

Safety

Safe, secure and accounted for

  • Lift access to Level 1 with secure entry, and digital sign in and sign out for every child and visitor
  • Every educator holds a current Working With Children Check
  • Qualified educators, with ratios that meet National Quality Framework requirements
  • Glass balustrades throughout the outdoor space, so children are enclosed but never boxed in
  • Allergy and dietary plans documented and followed for every child
  • Emergency procedures practised regularly with the children
