Built for early learning, inside and out
Chippendale was designed as an early learning centre from the outset, so the spaces do things a retrofitted building cannot.
- Outdoors – Open turf under shade sails, a bike and scooter circuit, a sandpit, and a pergola the children help tend, with learning rooms opening straight onto the turf.
- Indoors – A climbing wall, a turf mound with slide, and an indoor sandpit, so gross-motor play carries on whatever the weather.
- An indoor garden – A covered pergola with raised planters and turf, somewhere green to potter about on a wet Sydney afternoon.
- The rooms – Floor-to-ceiling glass on two sides, timber floors and low open shelving, each with its own character from an ocean wall to a hangar of hanging aircraft.
